Jeddah’s Historic District Program (JHD) joined forces with Cruise Saudi to accommodate the growing number of cruise visitors exploring the district’s rich history and culture. This collaboration is under the patronage of the Saudi Ministry of Culture.
Both JHD and Cruise Saudi prioritize showcasing the region’s unique heritage and landmarks. They also aim to revitalize commercial areas, encourage local entrepreneurs, and support Saudi tourist guides, all to enhance the visitor experience.
“Tourism is flourishing, strengthening Saudi Arabia’s position on the global tourism map,” said JHD Director General Abdulaziz bin Ibrahim Al-Issa. “Our partnership with Cruise Saudi focuses on economic growth and the district’s renewal. We are committed to preserving the heritage that earned the district UNESCO recognition.”
Lars Clasen, CEO of Cruise Saudi, echoed the sentiment. He highlighted Jeddah’s Historic District as a popular cruise destination and praised the unique experiences offered to international passengers. “This MoU signifies our shared vision,” Clasen said, “opening a new chapter for attracting more visitors while safeguarding the district’s heritage and authenticity.”
