Riyadh, April 16, 2025, SPA — The General Directorate of Passports has officially launched electronic applications for Hajj entry permits for resident workers, streamlining access for the 2025 Hajj season. This initiative allows applicants to submit requests through the Ministry of Interior’s Absher platform and the Muqeem Portal, removing the need for in-person visits to passport offices. The service is seamlessly integrated with Tasreeh, Saudi Arabia’s unified digital platform for Hajj permit issuance.
Key Features of the Absher Platform:
The Absher Individuals portal now enables employers and sponsors to request Hajj permits for domestic workers, dependents, Premium Residency holders, investors, mothers of citizens, and GCC nationals. Applicants must upload required documents directly through the platform for instant verification and approval.
Muqeem Portal for Establishments:
Via the Muqeem electronic portal, businesses and organizations headquartered in Makkah can apply for entry permits for employees holding seasonal work visas or contractual workers assigned to Hajj-related operations. This includes temporary staff employed exclusively for the pilgrimage period.
By digitizing the permit process, Saudi Arabia aims to enhance efficiency, reduce administrative burdens, and ensure a smooth Hajj experience for residents and workers. For updates, applicants are encouraged to use the Absher and Muqeem platforms, which provide real-time status tracking and automated approvals.
