RIYADH, Saudi Arabia – Saudi Arabia climbed a remarkable seven spots to secure the fourth position in the Road Quality Index (RQI) among G20 nations, according to a 2023 World Economic Forum report. This achievement marks a significant improvement, exceeding even the Kingdom’s own ambitious goal of reaching sixth place by 2030.

The Kingdom’s RQI score witnessed a 10% growth, jumping from 5.2 to 5.7, placing it higher than any other G20 country. This progress is attributed to ongoing efforts focused on enhancing road network connectivity, quality, and operational efficiency. These efforts also contribute to improved safety for road users and align with the National Transport and Logistics Services Strategy within Vision 2030.

Minister of Transport and Logistics Saleh Al-Jasser expressed his gratitude for the “great and unlimited support” from the leadership, acknowledging its contribution to this achievement. Badr bin Abdullah Al-Dulami, acting CEO of the Roads General Authority, emphasized the significant momentum gained in the road sector during 2023, further attributing the success to focused efforts.

This news signifies a remarkable accomplishment for Saudi Arabia, highlighting its dedication to developing a strong and efficient transportation infrastructure.
