For many years, Saudi Arabia has been dedicated to the well-being of pilgrims visiting the holy cities of Makkah and Madinah. Their goal is to ensure a comfortable and secure experience throughout the pilgrimage journey.

In line with Vision 2030, an initiative launched in 2016 to enhance pilgrim services, the Ministry of Interior introduced the Makkah Route Initiative in 2017. This program prioritizes efficient and seamless procedures for pilgrims. Through collaboration with various government agencies, the initiative leverages technology to complete key steps, like visa applications and biometrics, directly in the pilgrims’ home countries.

Since its launch, the Makkah Route Initiative has been implemented successfully in several Hajj seasons. This year is no exception. The Ministry of Interior, along with partner ministries and authorities, continues to provide high-quality services to pilgrims from designated countries. This includes receiving them at departure airports, collecting biometrics, issuing visas electronically, and tagging luggage.

Upon arrival in Saudi Arabia, a dedicated team awaits pilgrims. Special arrival lanes and buses ensure smooth transportation of pilgrims and their luggage to their accommodations in Makkah and Madinah. Every step prioritizes a welcoming, hospitable, and secure environment, making the Hajj a cherished memory for years to come.
