Riyadh, May 06, 2025, SPA — Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Interior has imposed a hefty penalty of SAR 100,000 on individuals caught illegally transporting visit visa holders to Makkah and holy sites during the 2025 Hajj season. The regulation, effective from Dhu Al-Qi’dah 1 to Dhu Al-Hijjah 14, also enforces vehicle confiscation via court order if the violator, a partner, or an accomplice owns the vehicle.
In a stern warning, the ministry underscored that these measures aim to protect pilgrims’ safety and streamline Hajj rituals. Authorities urged the public to adhere to regulations and report violations by calling 911 in Makkah, Madinah, Riyadh, and the Eastern Region, or 999 elsewhere in the Kingdom.
“Compliance with Hajj guidelines is critical to ensuring a secure and organized pilgrimage,” the ministry stated, reaffirming Saudi Arabia’s commitment to hosting millions of worshippers. The penalties target unauthorized access to holy sites, mitigating overcrowding and safeguarding the spiritual experience.
These rules align with the Kingdom’s broader strategy to enhance Hajj management, prioritizing pilgrims’ well-being and operational efficiency. Violators risk severe financial and legal consequences, emphasizing zero tolerance for non-compliance.
