Madinah, Saudi Arabia: In a significant development for Muslim pilgrims, worshippers will now be permitted to visit Al-Rawdah Al-Sharifa (Riaz-Ul-Jannah), the Prophet’s Mosque’s holiest chamber, multiple times throughout the year. This change in policy was recently announced on the Nusuk application, the official platform for Hajj and Umrah services.

The Nusuk app update states, “From here you can repeat your visit to Rawdah throughout the year as long as you are close to the Prophet’s Mosque.” Permits for Rawdah visits are now available every 20 minutes, providing greater flexibility for worshippers.

Conditions for Multiple Visits:

While this new policy allows for repeated visits, it’s important to note that certain conditions apply, as outlined on the Nusuk app:

  • Proximity to the Prophet’s Mosque: Worshippers must be in close proximity to the Prophet’s Mosque to be eligible for multiple visits.
  • Nusuk App Updates: Ensure the Nusuk app is updated with the latest version for accurate information and access to the new features.
  • GPS Location Activation: Activate the GPS location feature on the Nusuk app during the booking process to ensure accurate location tracking.
  • Instant Track Booking: Utilize the “instant track” feature within the app for efficient booking of Rawdah visit permits.

Prior to this recent update, the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah in December 2023 had announced a once-a-year permit availability for visiting Rawdah Al-Sharifa. This change reflects the ongoing efforts to enhance the pilgrimage experience and provide greater access to this sacred site for worshippers.

High Visitation Numbers:

The popularity of Rawdah Al-Sharifa is evident in the high visitation numbers. According to figures released by the General Authority for the Care of the Affairs of the Prophet’s Mosque in October 2024, more than ten million worshippers performed prayers in Rawdah during that year.

This new policy allowing multiple visits to Al-Rawdah Al-Sharifa is expected to further enhance the spiritual experience of millions of worshippers who visit Madinah each year.
