Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Tourism is intensifying inspections of hotels and apartments serving Umrah pilgrims in Makkah and Madinah, especially during the holy month of Ramadan. This initiative aligns with their “Our Guests Are the Priority” campaign, which emphasizes ensuring hospitality facilities comply with tourism regulations and provide the best services to pilgrims.
Minister Al-Khateeb himself led recent inspections, stressing the importance of adhering to regulations and offering exceptional service. Prior to Ramadan, Ministry officials conducted over 680 inspections, identifying 403 violations. These included operating without a license, offering inadequate service and maintenance, and failing to display clear price lists in both Arabic and English.
The Ministry’s overall goal is to enhance the visitor experience. They aim to provide visitors and pilgrims with high-quality services, allowing them to perform their rituals comfortably. This effort involves collaboration with relevant government authorities.
Visitors and pilgrims who encounter service issues can report them by contacting the Visitor Care Center at 930 or using the Ministry’s social media channels.
