The Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has launched the Nusuk pilgrim card, a new initiative designed to improve the Hajj experience for pilgrims in 2024. The card will be available in both digital and physical formats.

Enhanced Efficiency and Security

The Nusuk card aims to simplify the Hajj process by increasing the efficiency of operational procedures. It also serves as an identification tool, allowing Hajj workers to easily verify pilgrim identities and prevent unauthorized individuals from entering the holy sites. This enhances overall security for all pilgrims.

Convenience and Information at Your Fingertips

Pilgrims will receive a physical copy of the Nusuk card through their Hajj missions or service providers. A digital version is also accessible through the Nusuk and Tawakkalna apps. The card provides crucial information such as the pilgrim’s personal data, address, and health records.

Mandatory for All Pilgrims

The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has made the Nusuk card mandatory for all pilgrims, both domestic and international. Pilgrims must carry the card throughout their Hajj journey, from arrival to departure. It grants access to the holy cities of Makkah and Madinah, as well as movement between the sacred sites of Mina, Arafat, and Muzdalifah.

Additional Features and Communication Channels

The Nusuk card offers further benefits like displaying pilgrim grouping schedules and residential addresses. It also facilitates communication with the pilgrim’s respective Hajj mission, allows for receiving alerts, and enables pilgrims to submit feedback and complaints through the digital platform.

Emphasis on Official Channels and Safeguarding Pilgrims

The Ministry reiterates the importance of using official channels for Hajj registration and warns against fraudulent Hajj campaigns. They advise pilgrims to be cautious and avoid falling prey to such scams.

Global Collaboration for a Smooth Hajj

This initiative aligns with the Ministry’s “Jusoor Initiative” launched earlier this year. The program aims to improve communication with countries participating in Hajj and streamline procedures for pilgrims arriving at the holy mosques.

The Muslim World League also expressed their support for the Nusuk card and the Saudi Council of Senior Scholars’ statement emphasizing the requirement of a permit for performing Hajj. These measures aim to ensure a safe, secure, and well-organized Hajj experience for all pilgrims.
