Saudi Arabia officially launched a new digital platform called “Saudipedia” on Monday. This comprehensive online encyclopedia aims to become the main source of information about the Kingdom in multiple languages.
Saudi Arabia’s Media Minister Salman Al-Dosary proudly launched the “Saudipedia” digital platform in a ceremony at the Future of Media Exhibition in Riyadh. Joining him were Communications and Information Technology Minister Abdullah Al-Swaha and a delegation of Arab and international media representatives.
Designed with best practices in mind, Saudipedia strives to offer reliable and updated information about various aspects of Saudi Arabia, including its history, culture, people, geography, and achievements. The platform is part of the Human Capability Development Program within Vision 2030 and is overseen by the Ministry of Media.
During the launching ceremony, Minister of Media Salman Al-Dosary said: “Today, we lay the foundation for the Saudi encyclopedia ‘Saudipedia’, advancing toward the pillars of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s vision, to build a vibrant society proud of its extended history, deep-rooted strong foundations, and unique cultural identity.”
He further highlighted the importance of “Saudipedia” in shaping the narrative about Saudi Arabia. He emphasized its role in showcasing the Kingdom’s unique identity and rich cultural heritage to a global audience.
The platform offers a wealth of information, including text, multimedia content, and regular updates, covering various aspects of Saudi Arabia, including its culture, society, economy, politics, geography, and history. This makes it a valuable resource for anyone seeking authentic knowledge about the Kingdom.
