The Saudi Arabian Football Federation (SAFF) has officially launched its campaign to host the 2034 FIFA World Cup, a historic first for the nation as a solo organizer. The bid, titled “Growing. Together.”, reflects the country’s development aspirations and potential impact on the global football landscape.
This initiative emphasizes interwoven growth for the nation, its people, and the international football community through three pillars: Growing People. Together., Growing Football. Together., and Growing Connections. Together.
Saudi Arabia boasts a strong track record, having hosted over 100 international sporting events across various disciplines in the past six years. Additionally, the country has fostered partnerships with over 100 nations in the realm of football.
SAFF President Yasser Al Misehal emphasized the significance of sharing their football story with the world, showcasing advancements in the sport for both men and women.
The bid’s logo embodies the essence of Saudi Arabia: youthful spirit, rich culture, and diversity. It features intertwined ribbons forming the number “34” and outlining the country’s map. The color palette, inspired by various facets of Saudi heritage and aspirations, includes Desert Amber, Oasis Green, Radiance Red, Rich Lavender, and Sunrise Yellow.
A captivating film, featuring Layan Jouhari, a prominent figure on the Saudi women’s national football team, narrates the nation’s passion for the sport, cultural richness, and captivating landscapes. Renowned Saudi music producer MDLBEAST provides the film’s score.
With a dedicated bid unit led by Hammad Albalawi and the backing of over 130 Member Associations, SAFF aims to present a compelling case to FIFA. This bid aligns with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, leveraging the power of sports for national development and global engagement, as exemplified by the successful hosting of the FIFA Club World Cup in December 2023.
By harnessing the unifying power of football, Saudi Arabia seeks to be a central figure in global sports, fostering unity, cultural exchange, and shared growth and prosperity across nations.
