The Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has important updates for foreign pilgrims traveling for Umrah. Effective immediately, there are changes to both the Umrah visa expiration date and its validity period.

Firstly, the expiration date for Umrah visas has been shifted to Dhul Qadah 15th. This is two weeks earlier than the deadline, Dhul Qadah 29th. This means all foreign Umrah pilgrims must now depart Saudi Arabia by Dhul Qadah 15th.

Secondly, the Ministry clarified the validity period for the three-month Umrah visa. The visa’s validity will now start from the date it is issued, as opposed to the previous policy, which began from the date of entry into the country.

These changes are being implemented to ensure a smoother and more efficient experience for pilgrims, especially with the upcoming Hajj season approaching. The earlier visa expiration date and clarified start date will help manage the flow of pilgrims and streamline logistics for both Umrah and Hajj.

The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah collaborated with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to implement these changes. Their efforts aim to maintain order and effectively manage the influx of pilgrims during this important religious period i.e. Hajj.
