The Saudi General Entertainment Authority (GEA) announced a major boxing event coming to Los Angeles on August 3rd. In the main event, pound-for-pound superstar Terence Crawford will challenge Israil Madrimov for the WBA and WBO interim super-welterweight titles. The fight will take place at BMO Stadium and is sponsored by Visit Saudi, MDL Beast, and Red Sea Global.
This event marks the first-ever overseas event for Riyadh Season. The fight is being promoted by a collaboration of groups including Riyadh Season Card, Sela, League 1, Matchroom Boxing, and several other promotional companies.
Terence Crawford, undefeated with a record of 40-0 and 31 knockouts, is increasing weight to challenge Madrimov. This will be Crawford’s attempt to become a champion in a fourth weight class. Madrimov, the current champion, won the belt in a dominant performance earlier this year in Saudi Arabia.
The main event is just one part of a stacked fight card. The undercard features exciting matchups like Isaac Cruz defending his title, a heavyweight clash between Andy Ruiz Jr. and Jarrell Miller, and David Morrell looking to maintain his unbeaten record.
